“Wedding Hair and Makeup Los Angeles- Is your Finger on the Trigger?”

Getting Perfect Wedding Hair and Makeup Feels
Like War if You Don’t Know What You’re Doing

Ok, the war metaphor is a little strong. I admit it.

However, that‘s the way I felt when I started searching for a wedding hair stylist and a wedding makeup artist in the Los Angeles and Santa Monica, CA area.

I thought I was at war because my feelings felt so bruised and hurt by my multiple attempts to find a bridal salon that knew what they were doing and shared my vision for my wedding.

(Where could I get my wedding hair and makeup done? My concerns were answered by the Video you may watch by Clicking Here Now ==> Los Angeles Wedding Hair and Makeup.)

Oh, you know what mean, don’t you? Most of us girls have planned their wedding hundreds of times in their heads long before we get married (like from age 7). Some of us even wrote our vision down.

I felt this was one day when all eyes would be on me. I would be the center of everyone’s attention. I expected so many compliments on my hair and makeup.

I knew my wedding colors.

I already knew the style and all the accessories for my wedding dress.

I had my wedding shoes already picked out.

My wedding lingerie was picked out to match my wedding dress.

My lingerie for the wedding reception and the party thereafter was selected.

And, of course, my wedding night unmentionables were armed and ready if you get my drift.

My wedding music & celebrity guests were set.

I had my seating chart down pat.

However, since I felt all eyes would be on me I knew my wedding makeup and hair had to be perfect. Besides, there were the wedding pictures to consider. They last forever. Therefore, my appearance had to be dreamlike.

I searched the Internet for the category: makeup artists. Then I searched for the category: hair salons. Here’s what happened.

Salon A had a Disneyland approach to my hair and makeup. I looked like Snow White without the 7 Dwarfs.

Salon B wanted me to look like a flapper from the Roaring Twenties.

Salon C had a vision of me as Madonna from the 1980’s.

I felt none of them listened to me and understood what my lifelong plans were for my wedding appearance. Was there any hair salon in LA who understood my needs?

I’m going to tell you what I learned for your benefit. Here are some of my lessons:

1. Have your hair salon or hair stylist show you their makeup and hair portfolio. You can then tell if their approach will work with your wedding vision.

2.  You’ve been cutting out pictures of your bridal hairstyles and makeup for years. Bring those wedding hair and makeup pictures that show exactly what you want.

Pictures are one way to avoid wedding beauty disasters.

3. Consider the climate for the wedding. Select a hairstyle and makeup that will work with the weather.

4. Select a hairstyle that is comfortable and will let you move around and dance freely.

5. Consider your wedding dress and how it works with your wedding hair and makeup. The same holds true for your wedding accessories.

6.  Make sure your wedding hair accessories do not upstage your wedding hair. If you plan to wear an ornate headpiece, then keep your wedding hair simple.

7.  Now how about bridal makeup? Bridal makeup should focus on your eyes, lips and skin tone because the camera will capture these features.

8. Good skin care is very important to your wedding look. Get a facial before applying wedding makeup.

9. Next, what about Wedding Hairstyles? An updo will work well if your wedding dress stretches from your neck down. If are slender and not too tall then short hair is fine and may be sexy.

10. Classic wedding hairstyles may not match well with a contemporary wedding dress. If you are already sold on a classic wedding hairstyle, make it a little casual.

11. Let’s say you like a classic Victorian or modern hairstyle. In this case, a beach wedding hairstyle may be appropriate. It should be a basic chignon or down hairstyle and it should have loose curls done in a simple manner.

12. Finally, a word about the bridesmaids. They are there to support, not overshadow you. Therefore, all should have a similar hairstyle. Their dresses should be the same color and style.

Their accessories should be kept to a minimum and should all be the same. One example is they all will wear a flower in their hair or none will.

It is Ok if the bridesmaids have different hair texture, hair color and hair lengths.

Here’s your very special bonus tip. Pamper yourself with hair removal or waxing. My fiancé, now my husband, gave me all his love after checking me out.

All right, I just gave you more than a dozen tips on wedding hair and makeup.

Use them to celebrate your wedding day.
